Rose and Thorn
Unit 1A Swinnow Grange Mills
Stanningley Road
Leeds
LS13 4EP

If you have trouble locating it (a lot of people do, you’re not the first or last) you can head through Grays Salon as we share the same space.

How much does a tattoo by you cost?

Prices are based on each piece individually rather than by hour and will be given during the booking process before a deposit is asked for. My minimum is £80 and a day session is £450.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Once an appointment has been arranged I'll need a non refundable deposit paid via bank transfer to confirm the date and time.

I'll usually wait around 24 hours after asking for the deposit and if I've not had a response I'll offer the space out the space to others.

Without a deposit there is no confirmed appointment.

Do you do flash tattoos?

Yes! Please check my instagram stories for any flash designs you may like.

Please include a photo of the flash piece you'd like.

Can I cancel a booking?

Due to the recent rise in cancellations and rearrangements deposits are non-transferable.

Although I've always tried to be fairly lenient the amount of rescheduling, often non-covid related, has started having a huge negative affect on my workload and income.

When booking in please make sure the date and time absolutely works for you, as rearranging will result in a new deposit being needed.

I'll still take exceptional circumstances into account but that will be at my discretion.

How do I care for my tattoo?

Keep the tattoo wrapped for the next 3-4 hours (unless I've recommended something different) and then remove the covering. Wash with warm water and a mild soap such as Carex or Sanex, it might be a bit inky and bloody but that's normal!

Wash again before bed, no need to moisture the first day of the tattoo and I don't recommend rewrapping it.

From the day after get into a routine of washing it with warm water and soap, then giving it 10 minutes to air dry before applying a really thin layer of Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Less is more when it comes to moisturising, much better to underdo than overdo it!

Repeat that process three times a day for around a week, at some point in that week it will start to flake and itch.

Do not pick and scratch no matter how itchy.

Once it's no longer flakey then go down to once or twice a day with the washing and moisturising and keep that up for a further 2-3 weeks.

For the next 4 weeks: Do not soak the tattoo, no baths, swimming pools etc. No bright direct sunlight, sunbathing, sun beds or fake tan.

Can you tattoo on darker skin tones?

Yes! Any and all skin tones can be tattooed so everyone is welcome.

Can you tattoo over scars?

Usually the answer is yes, though it does depend on the scars. They need to be healed fully so that the ink doesn't spread through the unhealed scar tissue. Can always have a consultation to have a look and see if it healed enough to tattoo over.

Are your tattoos vegan?

Yes! All the products I use are vegan.

Rose & Thorn Tattoo

I'm based at Rose and Thorn Tattoo not far from Leeds City Centre.

There is plenty of free parking at the studio, or we’re a 10 minute walk from Bramley train station.

There’s also plenty of buses from all over Leeds. Once at Swinnow Grange Mills look for the the grey double doors, next to the Rose and Thorn sign by one of the car park exits.

If you have trouble locating it (a lot of people do, you’re not the first or last) you can head through Grays Salon as we share the same space.
